About Us

At Chinnect, we believe that cultural identity is more than just heritage—it’s a bridge between the past, present, and future. Our mission is to create a unified global network where Chinese individuals, families, and communities can celebrate their rich traditions while embracing modern innovation.

Who We Are

Chinnect is more than a platform; it’s a movement dedicated to strengthening connections within the Chinese diaspora worldwide. Whether you are a first-generation immigrant, a descendant of Chinese ancestry, or simply passionate about Chinese culture, Chinnect provides a dynamic space to share stories, foster discussions, and build meaningful relationships.

Founder & CEO Introduction

Yuheng Zhai is the Founder and CEO of Chinnect, a global platform dedicated to connecting Chinese youth across the world through cultural storytelling, classical learning, and meaningful dialogue.

A passionate cultural innovator and international student based in Canada, Yuheng founded Chinnect after years of volunteering as a Chinese language teaching assistant for heritage learners. Through this experience, he witnessed a growing generational divide: while first-generation immigrants often maintain high proficiency in Chinese, their children increasingly struggle to connect with the language and culture that once defined their families.

This realization became personal when Yuheng learned that Chinese is Canada’s most common “unofficial language,” spoken by over 1.5 million people in 2021. Yet, despite this large community, studies show that second-generation immigrants’ language retention significantly declines, even though research also indicates that Mandarin preservation rates in multilingual families can exceed 80%. To Yuheng, this revealed a crucial truth: the loss of heritage is not inevitable, it’s a matter of connection.

Driven by this belief, Yuheng created Chinnect as a digital bridge between tradition and technology, empowering global Chinese youth to share their stories, explore classical thought, and build a renewed sense of belonging. Drawing from his interdisciplinary background in education, philosophy, and social impact, he leads Chinnect with the conviction that technology, when grounded in cultural empathy, can preserve heritage and foster global understanding—one story, one conversation, and one voice at a time.
